Monday, June 28th
a/perture cinema | 311 W. 4th Street | Winston-Salem

Wesley Korir, native of Kenya and 2012 Boston Marathon Champion, founded Transcend Running Academy to give Kenyan students a chance to RUN from poverty. Wesley and his wife Tarah have covered high school fees for over 300 local students. They currently have 50 students enrolled in their elite training academy and have enrolled 10 students on running scholarships at US colleges.
As you likely know, the Davis family has been invested emotionally and financially in Kenya for a number of years.  They sponsor 4 boys from Kenya and continue to expand their efforts to help the people of Kenya.  Keith recently returned from Kenya where he visited the Transcend Running Academy and began strategic conversations to help elevate awareness of the program.  Emily and Keith are partnering with Wesley to raise $150,000 to build a new school, dorm, and track in Cherangany, Kenya in 2022.
Film tickets are covered by Emily & Keith.
Following the film we will walk next door (206 W. 4th St) to a complimentary private cocktail hour and a chance to talk directly to Wesley.
