A Message from Coach Stacie

We like to say that “Running Changes Everything”. Running allows us to discover that we are braver than we believe, stronger than we seem, and smarter than we think. But running offers us something more: It is the gateway into a community of love, laughter, and unimaginable support. 11 years ago when Dan and I moved 800 miles away from our nearest relative, I would have never predicted that God was leading us to meet our extended family here in North Carolina, and that running would serve as the introduction to these lifetime friendships. Running has truly changed my life.

My heart is filled with gratitude. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your fitness journey. Thank you for showing up early on Saturday mornings, tolerating tough sessions of core work, and never complaining about hills or allegedly longer than planned miles. For 10 years it has been my honor to serve the Winston-Salem running community and it has been awesome to watch this community grow.

Just as clearly as I’ve been called to coach, God is leading me through my next steps. He has trusted me with a sweet soon-to-be four year old boy and an incredibly supportive husband who both deserve my attention and energy. At the end of this year I am hanging up my coaching whistle to pour my energy into my family. At the same time I am returning to school to study nursing in hopes that I can continue to serve our community in a new capacity. Until then I will be planting a garden with Lukas, figuring out what a family dinner looks like, and enjoying Saturday morning snuggles.

My role may change, but running doesn’t. I am eager to share miles of running alongside you and may even stand on a starting line next to you in the years ahead. I am confident Fleet Feet Sports will continue to grow this amazing community. And I look forward to seeing how running will continue to change everything.
